A very elegant late George III period mahogany three pad top bracket clock by this partnership.
The moulded and veneered case has a good patinated surface and the arched three pad brass moulded top has a single carrying handle. The case stands on four ogee brass feet.
The silvered brass dial has a matted centre, a subsidiary calendar dial and a recessed silvered cartouche bearing the maker’s signature Moon & Edwards, LONDON. Within the arch there is a further subsidiary dial for strike/silent dial. The blued steel hands appear to be original.
The fully restored verge movement strikes the hour on a single bell and has a scroll engraved backplate with pull repeat work on the hour.
