An exceptional gilt engraved Cheval type timepiece by this famous maker.

The oval silvered dial is engraved with scrolls and strapwork. It has a Roman chapter ring enclosing a quatrefoil rosette. The delicate blued fleur-de-lys hands appear to be original.

The oval framed case is topped with a monogram inset with seed pearls and is pivoted between scroll arms rising from the base. The pivoted strut below is also engraved with scrolls and strapwork. The domed back panel has an integral winding tab. Both the case and movement are signed and numbered by the maker.

The movement has a going barrel with a platform lever escapement and a plain three arm balance.
