A fine George III period red lacquer alarm table clock. The bell top case with handle and four cone finials over circular and shaped glazed side panels on a moulded plinth base. The case is decorated all over with chinoiserie figures, flowers and lattice work within gilt line borders.

The arched 6 ¾ inch brass dial has a silvered chapter ring, the matted centre with alarm setting disc mounted to the centre, a shaped chamfered signature plaque above XII and date aperture above VI. There is also a silvered strike/silent subsidiary dial in the arch.

The twin fusee movement with five knopped pillars, rack strike and original verge escapement. The backplate finely engraved with a pagoda within foliate scrolls and a single line border.
