Antique Longcase Clocks / Regulators
The longcase is the classic English clock. They are prized by collectors for the beauty of their cases and the quality, durability and reliability of their movements. Early examples of longcase clocks were made by such famous clockmakers as the Fromanteels, Edward East, Thomas Tompion, Joseph Knibb and Daniel Quare. The regulator originating from the last quarter of the 17th century is an exceptionally accurate weight-driven longcase which was used by clockmakers and their customers to regulate their other timepieces.
