A beautiful William and Mary period oyster olivewood and parquetry side table of excellent colour and patination.

The well drawn table stands on four turned barley twist ash legs which terminate in four bun feet. The original X cross stretcher has a central oval panel and is also veneered in olivewood.

The rectangular top has four corner parquetry spandrels and a large outer band of holly. The central section has two concentric circles of holly framing the olivewood oyster veneers.

The original oak lined drawer has an olivewood oyster veneered front with axe head brass drop handles and a central dummy key escutcheon.

There is a label in the drawer showing this fine table was exhibit number 49 at the Art Treasures Exhibition in 1928
