A rare George I period miniature walnut veneered bureau bookcase with crossgrain cornice, an inset candleslide and a bevel glazed upper section with three adjustable internal shelves.

The bureau consists of four graduating long drawers and a brushing slide set below the upper drawer. The interior section has three internal drawers with pigeon holes and a beautifully patinated outer fall front with crossbanding and herringbone inlays.

The bracket feet and the brass loop handles are sympathetic replacements.
