A fine English early 19th century library timepiece, the enamel dial with Roman hour numerals and original blued steel hands which have pierced heart shaped tips. The high quality single fusee movement runs for 8 days.

The drumhead top sits on its original white marble base which has an applied gilt wreath with fruits and flowers along its front face and stands on 4 original engine-turned gilt brass feet.
Literature
This clock was most probably made by Richard Webster who was apprenticed in 1800 and free of the Clockmakers Company in 1807. He is listed in Brian Loomes’ “Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World – 21st century edition” as working between 1810 and 1840 and was a member of the well-known Webster family of clockmakers.
