A fine 2-day marine chronometer in its original brass strung mahogany box, the 56-hour chain fusee movement with Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement, blued steel helical spring, and bimetallic balance with circular timing weights. It comes complete with a solid turned brass tipsy winding key.

The 4 ¼ inch round silvered brass dial has Roman hour numerals and an outer double minute band. There is a subsidiary dial for up/down below XII and a subsidiary seconds above VI. The beautifully patinated mahogany veneered three tiered case has brass moulded edges and lines of brass stringing around the top and the front of the case. To each side there is an inset brass carrying handle. The dial is numbered 1632 in the centre of the subsidiary seconds dial and this number is repeated on an ivory plaque on the front of the box set above the brass key hole and escutcheon.
