A fine George II period mahogany open armchair in the manner of Giles Grendy. The roll-over dished top rail above a shaped solid centre splat flanked by shaped side uprights supporting flattened shepherds crook arms, the drop-in seat is covered with period needlework. The cabriole front legs have rosette and shell carved knees with draping husk swags centred by a scallop shell; on claw grasped ball feet.
