The 3-inch circular gilt brass engine turned dial with Roman numerals and pierced gilt foliate hands is set within the trunk of a chased bronze tree. On its branches are three gilt singing birds and to the left there is a bronze winged cherub holding a sling in one hand and an arrow on the other. They, along with the cupid’s quiver, are placed on a stepped gilt metal rectangular base supported by four gilt metal bun feet. There is a floral frieze mount to the front panel.

The small round plated ‘timepiece’ movement has a single fusee going train and is signed Baetens, London on the front plate.
