A rare small English striking four glass mantel clock by this excellent London maker. 
The elegant four-glass case is veneered in well patinated rosewood and stands on four adjustable brass bun feet. It has a most unusual dentil moulded cornice to the top. The square silvered engraved brass dial has a chapter ring with Roman hour numerals, outside minute markers and original Breguet style moon hands. The maker’s signature and serial number are engraved within the dial centre 

The plated movement, of characteristic high London quality, has substantial plates, boldly turned pillars and chain fusees. It has its original anchor escapement and brass bob pendulum. The hours are struck on a coiled gong set on the backplate which is also signed and numbered by the maker. There is a push repeat button on the right hand side of the case.
