A very rare English black and gilt gesso decorated chest of two short and three long drawers. The chest stands on four turned bun feet and retains its exquisite chinoiserie black and gilt decoration the top, sides and drawer fronts. The brass escutcheons and drop handles are sympathetic replacements.
